Fun, Fellowship, Informative

The Lakeland Chapter, DAR, is a vibrant and exciting chapter, combining inspirational meetings, interesting field trips, and unique opportunities to serve our community. We provide a variety of opportunities for members to find their unique roles in DAR service. We treasure tradition while seeking new ways to serve and reach our community.

Our events, projects, and programs are always designed to further the DAR’s mission to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. The motto of the DAR informs everything we do in the Lakeland Chapter, DAR, God, Home, and Country. Historical education, literacy, veterans support, and conservation are just a few of ways in which we strive to further the goals of the NSDAR

The Lakeland Chapter, NSDAR, was organized and chartered on December 4, 1925, by our Organizing Regent, Annie Hanna Darracott. Our original membership of 20 has now grown to over 130 and counting. Our chapter also established and continue to support to the Private Vaughn Society, Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.).

We believe in expanding our reach and providing leadership and service opportunities for our members. Our members work not only on the local chapter level, but state-wide as well. Our chapter is an active member of the Heartland Council, a group of ten NSDAR chapters within central Florida. Members routinely serve on state committees and are frequent and well-respected speakers and subject matter experts at DAR functions throughout Florida.
